So it's been awhile since i've written a post now. At that point I was training to do a half marathon, I hadn't actually booked a race though.
This was my downfall, not booking a race. I lost the motivation to go on long runs, the nights drew in and I just didn't have the motivation to go out running for hours.
I guess I also lost the motivation to write this blog, but that's fine I knew I'd pick it up again and I'm doing just that now!
Anyway, what have I been up to? Just before christmas I booked my first half marathon in derby for June. I then entered the ballot for the Great North Run, thinking (hoping) I might not get in, yet lo and behold I got an entry!
So now i'm training for two half marathons this year! I've changed my diet, been doing some coached sessions with my amazing club, been working on my speed and strength. I've consistently been getting faster and stronger, beating both my 5k and 10k PB's in the process.
I'll try and update it weekly from now on, so keep an eye on it.
But for now, I've fallen back in love with Running!
